Date: Friday, December 8
Time: 7:00 – 9:30 pm
Location: Fellowship Hall
To Bring: Dish to share for our potluck dinner
Join in the festivities as we celebrate Christmas and other spiritual and cultural holidays in December. From Bethlehem and the Appalachians to Kwanzaa and Hanukkah we’ll share beloved traditions, like visiting with friends and family, eating, singing, storytelling, lighting candles, and more. Feel the warmth of the familiar passed down through generations and the joy of the new awakening your heart.
Our program will feature songs from the “Appalachian Christmas Musical,” which was performed by Unity Atlanta Church twenty-nine years ago. Two of the performers are still active in our church and will be singing favorite selections once again. We’ll also invite everyone to sing along simple mountain tunes including a variation of the well-known carol, “Away in a Manger.”
Dinner will be potluck. Bring a favorite holiday dish to share.
Come dressed in your traditional holiday attire…from casual to fancy or even an ‘ole ugly Christmas sweater. A photo backdrop will be set up, ready to create photo mementos.
Gift-giving is one of the most beloved traditions of the holidays. Please give to the less fortunate in our community by bringing non-perishable items for our Holiday Food Drive.
The evening’s program is pre-planned, so if you’d like to sing a holiday song or share about a holiday tradition on stage, please email Rev. Barbara Huffman at: barbarathuffman@gmail.com. Please also contact Rev. Barbara if you have any questions, would like to assist as a volunteer, and to let her know what food you plan to bring for the potluck.
We look forward to enjoying the richness of this beautiful season with you on December 8!
