Message: “The Ingredients of Hope”–Carl McColman, Guest Speaker

Theme: How do we manifest hope, especially in a society that is so calibrated toward cynicism and even despair? By drawing on wisdom from the mystics, we’ll look at the “ingredients” that give hope power and purpose.

About Carl McColman:
Carl McColman is a contemplative writer, speaker, and spiritual director whose work explores the wisdom of Christian mysticism, Celtic spirituality, and contemplative prayer. He is the author of numerous books on spirituality, including The New Big Book of Christian Mysticism, Read the Bible Like a Mystic, An Invitation to Celtic Wisdom, and Eternal Heart. Carl’s work builds bridges between ancient spiritual traditions and contemporary seekers, inviting people into a deeper experience of silence, prayer, and the boundless nature of divine love.

A longtime student of mystical wisdom and contemplative practice, Carl has a particular interest in the rich spiritual heritage of the Celtic world and in the ways mystical wisdom speaks to the questions of our time. Based here in Atlanta, Carl teaches mysticism for the Spiritual Director training program with Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute (UWSI), and regularly offers teaching, retreats, and spiritual direction both in person and online.
