Summer Message Series:  Summer of Wonder: Messages to Nurture and Restore Life’s Awe and Joy

Throughout his ministry, Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of Heaven is here now, in how we recognize and express our divinity.  When the disciples ask who will be the greatest in the kingdom, Jesus invites a child to join him and says: “Unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  Therefore, whoever humbles themselves like this child is the greatest in the kingdom” (Matthew 18:1-4).

Jesus doesn’t speak here about a particular person, but about specific characteristics  that unite us with the Divine, always with us, within us, and around us.  These qualities, which are part of everyone’s original, true nature, fill us with the capacity for delight, laughter, humility, honesty, and sincerity.  None of these qualities are childish.  Rather, they unite us with our pure soul essence and remind us how much greatness we can give the world.
