Prayer is a cornerstone of Unity Teachings which not only blesses those that we pray with but it also deepens our own spiritual connection. For we cannot speak the truth to others without causing a vibration within ourselves that reacts to those very same words of truth. Prayer does not simply change ‘things’—prayer changes us from the inside out.

Prayer Chaplains have a sacred and unique opportunity to support our Beloved Community by uplifting and blessing members in a number of ways including:

• Holding sacred space during services and events;
• Praying with others one-on-one;
• Listening compassionately during times of challenge or joy and;
• Discerning how prayer chaplaincy can be adapted to meet the needs of our Beloved Community in a spirit of Light and Love.

In addition to serving our Unity Atlanta Beloved Community, prayer chaplains are equipped with easily transferable tools that can be used beyond church walls. For example, affirmative prayer opens us up to consider unlimited possibilities and beckons us to interact with others compassionately. And although we do not deny how we feel, affirmative prayer reminds us to not focus on the situation—but rather on the power within us that knows all and guides us unfailingly to right solutions.
