About Jan Gurr, LUT:
Jan Gurr has called Unity Atlanta Church her spiritual home for thirty years, joining the community in 1996 and serving in nearly every corner of church life. Her leadership has touched the Board of Trustees, Stewardship, Marketing and Outreach, Healing Ministry, Singles Ministry, Grounds and Gardening, the Bookstore, Women’s Circle, Congregational Care, and Prayer Chaplaincy.
Her deepest and longest service—spanning twenty?two years—has been with her first love, Youth and Family Ministry, where she discovered her calling to spiritual education. During the Imagine Campaign in 2006, Jan felt Spirit’s unmistakable nudge toward the Licensed Unity Teacher path. After a journey of persistence, pauses, and grace, she completed her Certified Spiritual Educator credential in 2013 and earned her Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT) credential in August 2015. She often says LUT really stands for “LifeLong Unity Truth Student.”
Jan is devoted to the foundational Unity principles and has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of applying Truth teachings in daily life. She is passionate about helping individuals grow, learn, evolve, and transform—emotionally and spiritually—by engaging hearts and minds in ways that make spiritual principles practical and alive.
Today, Jan serves Unity Atlanta by facilitating SpiritGroups, teaching Sunday classes, and participating on several ministry teams. She also supports the wider Unity movement as a member of the SouthEast Unity Ministries, Inc. (SUMI) Executive Team. Her ministry is rooted in love, authenticity, and the joyful practice of spiritual growth as a lifelong journey.
